The Bystander is a minor character that briefly appears in FAITH: Chapter II.
Biography[]
This character is completely unknown; they are believed to have lived in the same apartment complex with Father Garcia.
Before September 20th, 1987[]
During an exorcism session, Michael Davies breaks free from his restraints and escapes Father Garcia's apartment. Garcia catches up to Michael and sees him partially eating this character. Michael notices Garcia and escapes through a window. Garcia begins his pursuit of Michael to return with him to his apartment and complete the exorcism.
Trivia[]
- This character does not have their own sprite file, and is instead drawn as part of the background of the apartment hallway.
- This is similar to the green dead person you see in a room in the New Haven Apartment Complex.
- Blood trails from Michael collide with the bystander's blood. So, what probably happened is that Michael was causing a lot of noise and left Garcia's room. The bystander, likely wondering what that noise was, opens their door. Michael ambushes, drags them, and starts eating them.
- The reason why this person's death occurs before Sept 20th is because a newspaper article in Chapter I has a person named Cherise Wan who reports seeing a naked white man running around near Snake Meadow Hill Road on a Sunday. Her report was published to the local newspaper the next morning, Monday the 21st, where Chapter I starts around night-time.
- It's also possible that this person's death happened on the same day as the 20th because we don't know where exactly in Connecticut Father Garcia lives in.
- This is the only time we see Michael eating somebody. Although he kills deer and John (in certain endings), he is never seen eating them. It's likely that Michael was releasing all of his pent-up rage and lashes out at the bystander.
- In the No Demons World, a character with a similar color to this one can be seen jogging on the sidewalk.
