Debbie Williams is a minor character that is mentioned in FAITH: Chapter III.

Biography[]

Debbie and her family live in the New Haven Apartment Complex in apartment 9B.

October 31st, 1986[]

Debbie hosts the Williams Family annual Halloween block party in her apartment. An undisclosed incident occurred which apparently traumatized her son Timmy.

Between November 1st, 1986 - October 28th, 1987[]

Sometime during this timeframe, Timmy apparently dies or goes missing. This drives Debbie into a state of denial, prompting her to make some kind of deal with a powerful demon for her son's return. She would begin harvesting bodies to be sacrificed to this deity in apartment 7A in order to form a replacement vessel for Timmy's soul to inhabit.

Days before John Ward's arrival to the apartment complex, Debbie pens the Williams Family Newsletter to announce the 1987 Williams Family Halloween block party. In the letter, she informs her guests of Timmy's diet, food allergies, asthma, and imaginary friend. She also lays out a set of strict rules in the interest of protecting Timmy after last year's traumatic incident, such as no overly scary costumes, no alcohol or cigarettes, no pranks, and no anti-religious or Satanic imagery. She also mentions the landlord, Mr. Miller, as if he were a family friend of sorts. It is unknown if she knows about his status in the Eternal Order of the Second Death.

With Timmy not actually being present anymore, it is suspected that Debbie had set up this party in an attempt to murder the partygoers and add their flesh to the new vessel.

October 29th, 1987[]

John arrives at the apartment complex in order to find the summoning site of Malphas and rescue his childhood friend Lisa Pearson from the cult. After banishing Alu, he finds two drawings by Timmy containing the combination to the "Elevator Game". After punching the combination into the elevator buttons, he enters the Unseen World and battles Tiffany.

On his way back out, a hole has opened up in the elevator floor, with the words "DAMNATIO MEMORIAE" written around it. Jumping down this hole three times, John finds himself on the elusive 7th floor of the building. Entering room 7A, he finds a large statue of a mysterious idol surrounded by viscera, with the body of Timmy Williams lying at its base. Exorcising the idol, Timmy's body disappears, leaving behind Debbie's note about the replacement nearing completion, only needing a few more bodies.

The fate of Debbie Williams after this is unknown, whether she would find out that Timmy's spirit had been freed by John, if she had been murdered by Gary's thralls hiding inside the walls of the building, or if she had been "Damnatio memoriae'd" along with the entirety of the 7th floor.

Trivia[]

  • Debbie's quest to bring her son back shares a striking resemblance to Cindy Martin's story, where she was convinced the twin boys she miscarried were reaching out to her in need of replacement vessels for their spirits to inhabit.
  • Despite the Williams family newsletter being obtained outside of apartment 9B of the New Haven Apartment Complex, the mailboxes on the first floor state that this apartment is inhabited by "R. Graham".
    • Interestingly, none of the mailboxes bear the Williams surname.
