Faith Wiki

Dr. Morris is a character mentioned in only one note in FAITH: Chapter III.

Biography[]

Not much is known about Morris due to him only being mentioned once throughout series. What we do know is that he and Bob had been close friends for many years, having gone on missionary trips together. He also served for some time as Cindy's therapist.

Before September 21, 1986[]

Bob and Morris left to go on a missionary trip to Nicaragua. They found a strange doll inside a house that they enter and Bob later ended up telling Cindy about it. This resulted in her going down a slight spiral, convinced she can find similar vessels for her sons to inhabit.

Sometime later, once Morris and Bob returned home, Morris began seeing Cindy as a patient, presumably to help her deal with the loss of the twins. He was apparently gentle with his approach, slowly acclimating her to the reality of the situation. He believed he had been making progress with her, having her admit that she had miscarried. However, he then learned of her obsession with finding vessels, and made a connection between that and the doll in Nicaragua. This seemed to deeply worry him. In response, Morris wrote a letter to Bob expressing his worry for Cindy, asking him to meet him at his office as soon as possible.

We don't know whether Bob ever met up with him as requested and, if he did, what came of the meeting.

Trivia[]

  • Morris's note on Cindy's behavior reveals why there are so many mannequins inside the Martin house: she was searching for replacements for their spirits to inhabit.
