Faith Wiki

John's Neighborhood is a location that appears in FAITH: Chapter II and Chapter III.

History[]

September 28th, 1987[]

John wakes up in his bed after being met face-to-face with the UNSPEAKABLE during his worst nightmare yet. He finds a letter next to him from his wife, who had left him in the middle of the night on account of not being able to handle his condition any longer.

At his front door, he receives a letter from Father Garcia, telling him that a cult is set to initiate the Profane Sabbath, and to wait for his next assignment in a follow-up letter. John drives away to an unknown location.

Initiation[]

If John had committed all three of the demonic acts in his nightmare, Father Garcia's letter will not be at the front door. Instead, the back door is open. John exits his house and steps into a pentagram on the ground, surrounded by cultists. The UNSPEAKABLE descends before John so that he may receive its blessing. Unable to withstand its presence, blood begins to pour out of John's eyes.

October 28th, 1987[]

John wakes up from his bed after a flashback to Amy Martin's first exorcism. At his front door, Father Garcia tells John that he must find where the cult intends to summon Malphas and disrupt their plans. His first assignment is to inspect the clinic that Amy used to work at.

October 29th, 1987[]

John wakes up from his bed after another flashback to 1986. John wakes up to find Garcia's next assignment, as well as two letters from his childhood friend, Lisa Pearson, telling him to come to an apartment building in New Haven. Cult activity has heightened there, and Lisa's neighbors will not let her leave.

October 30th, 1987[]

After another flashback, John wakes up to Garcia's final assignment the day before the Profane Sabbath. He has gotten reports of children acting strangely at a daycare center.

October 31st, 1987 (A New Vessel)[]

Yesterday at the daycare center, John's fears had once again gotten the better of him, and he drove back home.

After another flashback, John wakes up. The cross fixed above his bed is now upside-down. It is thundering outside. The Profane Sabbath has begun. He remarks that he wishes to enter the forbidden room in his hallway one last time, whose door is covered in crosses; the key is in the basement.

There is no letter from Father Garcia at his front door, only knocking. Looking through the peephole, the thralls of the Second Death have found him at his home. They smash his windows in and climb inside.

John heads to his basement, where the key to the forbidden room lies. As he picks it up, a giant centipede demon suddenly runs down the stairs and tries to catch John. John outmaneuvers it and hurries back up to his kitchen.

The back door has opened. Five thralls stand around a newly opened star-shaped hole in his backyard.

The thralls in his living room have disappeared. Out the front door, they are now burning his car. Checking on his neighbors, the family to the right have been slaughtered by their possessed son, while the family to the left all hang from their ceiling; their TVs have no signal.

John rushes back inside and enters the forbidden room. Amy stands alone in his filing room. John kneels in front of her and begs for forgiveness. Amy declares him UNFORGIVABLE. The hand of the Antichrist appears from her mouth, grabbing John by the face and pulling him into Hell.

Trivia[]

  • In the "Murderer" ending for Chapter I, the newspaper article reveals that John is from Palmyra, New York, meaning this is likely where his house is located.
    • It takes between 5 and 6 hours to drive from Palmyra to most of the Connecticut locations featured throughout the game.
