The Pentarox (or Stalker) is a demon in FAITH: Chapter II. A similar-looking one also appears in Chapter III.

Appearance[]

He has a red goat-like head, and a masculine gray body. He moves his arms up and down as he approaches John.

As he appears in Chapter III, he has a completely gray body and red eyes instead. This variation is curiously called a 'Stalker' in the game's files.

FAITH: Chapter II[]

He is summoned when John draws the inverted pentagram with the blood trail left after stabbing himself in the eye at the pentagram site. When he spawns, he will leave bloody footprints behind. Banishing him with the cross serves as the first step in getting the Initiation ending.

Gameplay[]

Pentarox does not immediately appear after summoning him, only announcing "PANDEMONIUM REGNAT" and then waiting for a few seconds. The demon will suddenly rush towards John from a random direction, roaring as he does so. Hold up the crucifix and he will retreat off the screen again. He will wait several seconds before he attacks again. Doing this around three times will successfully banish the demon.

FAITH: Chapter III[]

He makes a return in Faith: Chapter III as the demon in the red light, green light minigame in Garyland. He may also appear as an apparition in the fight against Gary.

Gameplay[]

The Stalker variation will appear during red light, green light after you have picked up the key, slowly approaching John from the right side of the screen. You will have to carefully manage following the red light, green light instructions to not be killed by the cultist, but also make sure you gain enough distance away from Pentarox for him to not kill you either. Both the cultist and the demon will not be able to kill John after he's made it up the stairs, with the latter disintegrating after he does so.
