Police Officers are minor characters that appear in FAITH: Chapter III. Although officers from the Sterling Police Department have been mentioned throughout the series, they do not make physical appearances until then.
One officer is seen stationed outside the Clinic, and a whole platoon of cops also appears near the Daycare Center.

When John Ward unknowingly makes a deal with an angel of light for his escape from the Martin home, police and paramedics are waiting for him outside. They arrest him and eventually send him to Yale Psychiatric Institute, later finding Amy Martin and doing the same with her.
September 21st, 1987 (The Murderer)[]
If John decides to kill Amy, he will be pulled over by the police and arrested after making his way back to his car.
October 28th, 1987[]
As John approaches the clinic, there is a lone police officer standing outside the entrance. It's unknown why exactly he's there, as all he tells John is, "This ain't no place for you, preacher." John must sneak past him into the clinic through a broken window.
After John's run-in with Jeffrey, the officer likely hears the commotion and wails from the creature inside. Making his way to the basement, he finds John strapped into a gurney. He unstraps John and attempts to take him back outside for questioning.
As the two approach the boarded-up front doors, the officer remarks that he's gonna need the crowbar John found. Just then, Jeffrey jumps into the foyer through a window and begins attacking them. The officer says, "Jesus Christ... What is that thing?!" as he begins trying to shoot at the creature.
Jeffrey only targets John and cannot be banished by the cross. It will, however, slow it down. John must keep his distance and slow down the creature, giving the officer a clear line of sight to shoot it. Upon being shot, Jeffrey will retreat through a window and later reenter through a different one. After five successful hits from the officer's service weapon, Jeffrey finally falls dead.
Once John pries the boards off the front door, he and the officer make their way outside. But before the officer can arrest John, he sees that a group of "hippies" have torched his police car. They run off, and the officer gives chase. Should John decide to follow, the cop is found dead in an alleyway.
October 30th, 1987[]
As John drives toward the Daycare Center, he sees a police car following him. Pulling over, the cop instead speeds right past him. He walks closer to the building and sees an entire platoon of cops surrounding the front door, with barricades and guns aimed at the entrance. They don't talk or recognize John standing near them. John is able to sneak around the building and make his way inside through the back door.
Should John decide to exit through the front doors, the cops will mistake his cross for a gun and open fire, killing him. They do not storm inside the Daycare Center.
October 31st, 1987[]
After defeating Gary in the Crucible (or blocking the entrance), Father Garcia and John exit the daycare. Walking out from the entrance, the corpses of the police officers and thralls litter the area. The thralls had apparently tried to rush the cops, resulting in both groups being killed with no known survivors. This is the last time we see any police officer.
