Many locations important to FAITH's story are located in or near the forest. They include:
History[]
September 21st, 1986[]
Two priests, Father Allred and John Ward, travel to the Martin House situated in the middle of the forest to perform their exorcism of Amy Martin. They fail, and John and Amy are the only ones left alive.
Between September 21st, 1986 - September 21st, 1987[]
The Eternal Order of the Second Death makes frequent visits to the forest outside of the Martin House, involving sacrificing animals, as well as performing Amy's Second Death ritual.
At some point, Michael Davies escapes into the same area of the forest, and begins hunting the local deer population.
September 21st, 1987[]
One year after the failed exorcism, John returns to finish what he started. As he arrives on Snake Meadow Hill Road, he exits his car and ventures through the forest to find the Martin House again. During his search, he finds various objects of interest, such as a dead tree, some ruins, graves, and a deer skeleton.

John will also occasionally be rushed by Michael, who has begun pursuing him throughout the forest, though John may easily repel him with his cross. He can also be seen hunting and killing the deer in the area, as well as taunting John whenever he's close, which can range from swearing and cursing him in Spanish to incoherent screaming.
If John gets too lost, he may also catch glimpses of Amy's twin brothers, Nate and Jason Martin, running away from him in the direction that John should be going.
Locating the Martin House, John finds that the door is locked. Coming across the shed just off the main path, he enters it to find a spare key to the house. Michael will try to ambush him again in here, but is quickly deterred by John's cross. With the key in hand, John makes his way back to the house and searches for Amy.

After the second exorcism attempt, Amy flees the house. John finds a rifle laid out in the foyer and exits the house. The forest has notably changed, with the trees now outlining more clearly-defined paths for John to take. Here, he can do one of five things:
- John can find Amy having limped away into an open section of the forest. Shooting her yields the "Murderer" ending where John is pulled over by the police.
- John can find a mysterious gray figure standing by the shed. Shooting them yields the "Father and Son" ending where Michael sneaks into John's car and attacks him while he's driving away.
- John can find a defiled fox corpse surrounded by five rocks. Shooting it yields "The Offering" ending, where John is stopped in the road by the Eternal Order of the Second Death.
- John can find a deer in an open area of the forest. Shooting it yields "The Hunter" ending, where John runs into another deer on the road, and is killed by the herd.
- John can make his way back to his car without shooting anything, only to be ambushed again by Michael. Shooting him before he reaches John will cause him to stumble into the road and be crushed by a truck. This yields the canon ending, "When Faith Endures".
September 28, 1987[]
John begins his worst nightmare yet, finding himself in the forest just outside of Gallup Cemetery, in the middle of a circle of five small rocks. He treks forward to see a deer running away, only to find another deer's corpse skewered on a tree. After making a turn, John finds himself at the cemetery's entrance.
After John witnesses his reflection stab itself in the eye, his own eye also begins to bleed. At this time, he has the option to return to the circle of rocks in the forest and draw a pentagram with his blood. This summons Pentarox, who will rush him a total of three times when repelled by John's cross.

Some time later, John escapes from the basement of Snake Meadow Hill Church, and finds himself exiting a shed in a clearing of the forest. He ventures south to find a herd of deer all fleeing from something.

Following where they came from, John finds a ritual site featuring the bodies of Angel Nogales, Troy Ingles, and Sandra Attwood, all mutilated, bloodied, and beheaded. In the middle of the circle, there's a newspaper article. John reads the article, outlining a police report on the deaths of these three people before quickly derailing and calling out John for being the one responsible for it. It begins proclaiming that it is the "God of this world". John looks up from the article to see the three deceased thralls standing upright with their bodies ablaze, while also being surrounded by cultists as Amy hides behind a tree. John then melts into a Wretch and is transported to the Unseen World.
October 30th, 1987[]
John arrives at the daycare center in search of the summoning site of Malphas, as well as Nate and Jason Martin. The forest can be seen beyond a chain link fence, rendering it inaccessible to him.
October 31st, 1987[]
After a battle with Gary, John and Father Garcia make their way back out of the daycare center, returning to one of their cars parked just outside the forest.
October 31st, 1987 (Ending III: A New Vessel)[]
The day before at the daycare, John's fears got the better of him, and he fled. The Profane Sabbath is to begin without interruption. John wakes up to total chaos happening outside. He wishes to enter the forbidden room in his home one last time. Amy is there. John pleads with her for mercy, but she finds him unforgivable. The hand of the Antichrist lunges out from her face, grabbing John and pulling him in.
John finds himself in a linear stretch of forest leading straight to the Martin House, with only the well and visions of Michael Davies being seen among the trees. Entering the now ruined Martin House, John finds the twins' room, containing nothing but two wooden effigies of them. John falls to his knees, and throws his hands up in defeat, where Amy and Michael grab his arms, allowing the UNSPEAKABLE to make him its new vessel. John, Michael, Amy, the demon, and the house all disappear, leaving only a vacant space in the forest where it used to be.
